Thanks for checking out my site! I grew up in Laguna Beach, California, a beautiful town halfway between Los Angeles and San Diego that's unfortunately also the setting of a tacky MTV reality show. I just finished my first year at Loyola Law School, and am interning this summer at HALSA,the HIV and AIDS Legal Services Alliance.
I have taken courses from and highly recommend Landmark Education. Their flagship course, the Landmark Forum, offers a fascinating, inspiring look into what makes us who we are and what's possible in life. I lead introductions for people interesting in taking the Landmark Forum, both in English and Spanish. Right now, I'm in the year-long Wisdom Unlimited course, which is about bringing fun, play and ease to all areas of life.
Before law school, I worked for the Recording Academy, home of the Grammy Awards, as an a editor for their website, magazine and program books; I also wrote a daily music industry news blog called NewsWatch. Plus, I got to go to the Grammy Awards and Latin Grammys several times and meet celebrities, which was pretty cool.
I also worked as a producer for Univision Online, a division of the Spanish-language television network. Univision.com is now the number-one Spanish-language site in the U.S. They relocated me to Miami for a few months to help launch the site, but the humidity and flat terrain finally got to me and I came back to L.A.
My first job out of college was producing websites for two nationally syndicated public radio shows, Marketplace and The Savvy Traveler. On the side I produced a few on-air pieces for a weekly news show called The California Report.
I graduated in May of 1998 from the University of Southern California with majors in Spanish (which explains why I worked for Univision) and international relations. At USC, I was an editor, columnist and reporter at the student newspaper, the Daily Trojan.
In the fall of 1996, during my junior year in USC, I was an intern in the White House press office (located in the West Wing). No run-ins with Ms. Lewinsky (she was working at the Pentagon then), but Tipper Gore did try to set me up with her daughter Karenna (the hot one who's now married with kids). I spent an amazing next semester at the University of Seville.
So that's about it. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to email me.
